What this covers

This policy explains how Language Lab (language-lab.io) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage and tracking pixels) and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

Your choices

When you first visit, we show a consent banner. Strictly-necessary cookies are always active because the site cannot work without them. Everything else — analytics, session replay and advertising — is off by default and is set only if you choose to enable it. Nothing non-essential loads before you make a choice, and you can change or withdraw your choices at any time (it is as easy to withdraw as it is to give):

Analytics and session replay

With your consent, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how the Services are used and to record session replays — playbacks of on-page interactions that help us find bugs and improve the experience. All on-screen text and everything you type is masked in these recordings (so passwords, messages and other content you enter are never captured), and we record only a sample of sessions. Session replay is part of the Analytics category — it runs only if you enable Analytics, and stops the moment you withdraw that consent.

Advertising partners

With your consent to Marketing, we use advertising and measurement pixels from Meta, Google and LinkedIn to measure our campaigns and show you relevant ads on those platforms. For this purpose we and each platform act as joint controllers for the data collected through the pixel. These partners are certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, which we rely on (with standard contractual clauses as a fallback) for transfers to the United States. See our Privacy Policy for details. These pixels load only if you enable the Marketing category, and never for visitors under 18.

How to control cookies

You can manage non-essential cookies with the Manage cookie preferences button above (also linked in the site footer), and you can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings (usually under “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”). Clearing strictly-necessary cookies may sign you out or reset your preferences.

Global Privacy Control & US opt-out

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) — a signal some browsers and extensions send on your behalf. If your browser sends GPC, we automatically keep advertising and measurement pixels off, even if you press “Accept all,” and the banner will show that advertising is blocked by your browser. US residents can also opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising simply by turning off the Marketing category with the button above; see Your US state privacy rights in our Privacy Policy.
