Accessibility Statement

We want everyone to be able to learn a language with us — including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, or reduced-motion settings.

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. Language Lab is in private beta and evolving quickly, so accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a finished one. We treat it as a core part of building the product, not an afterthought.

Steps we have already taken across the site and app:

• Semantic landmarks — meaningful HTML structure and headings so assistive technology can navigate the page.
• Keyboard navigation — interactive elements are reachable and operable without a mouse.
• Sufficient colour contrast — text and key UI aim to meet AA contrast ratios.
• Respects reduced motion — we honour your operating system’s prefers-reduced-motion setting and tone down or remove non-essential animation.
• Self-hosted fonts — type loads quickly and reliably for clean, legible text.

We’re honest about where we’re not there yet:

• Some pages use rich animations and 3D or visual effects that may not be fully optimised for every assistive technology.
• When your operating system requests it via prefers-reduced-motion, we reduce or disable this motion — but a few decorative elements may still need refinement.
• As an early-stage beta, some newer features are still being reviewed for full conformance.

We are actively improving these areas and re-test as we ship. If something blocks you, please tell us (see “Feedback” below) and we’ll prioritise it.

We design with the following frameworks in mind. The operator is established in India, but we serve a worldwide audience, so we aim to align with:

• European Accessibility Act (EU, applicable from 2025).
• Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (United States).
• Equality Act 2010 (United Kingdom).
• Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) (Ontario, Canada).

WCAG 2.1 AA is our common technical baseline for meeting these.
