Language Lab is an AI language-learning app built specifically for immigrants and people moving abroad. Instead of teaching tourist phrases, it teaches the real, practical language you need the moment you land — talking to landlords, doctors, banks, and government offices like the German Anmeldung. It combines structured lessons, 100+ voiced real-life scenarios, and Sonia, a live AI tutor you can actually talk to, across 20 languages.
Why it exists
Moving to a new country is hard enough without a language wall. Most language apps are built for holidays — ordering coffee, asking for directions. None of that helps when a letter arrives from the immigration office, or a landlord calls about the heating and you understand one word. Language Lab exists to close that gap: to get you from “I can’t understand anything” to “I handled it” — before the real moment, not after.
Who built it
Language Lab was founded by an immigrant — someone who moved abroad, sat in the waiting rooms, fumbled through the paperwork, and learned the hard way that survival language is nothing like textbook language. It’s built by people who have lived the problem, for people about to live it.
Languages supported
Language Lab supports 20 languages: German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, Polish, Turkish, Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Arabic, and Hindi — each focused on the everyday and bureaucratic language the country actually runs on, not generic phrasebook filler.
Our mission
To make settling into a new country feel possible — to give every immigrant the words they need to be understood, respected, and at home, from day one.
